Pindus Trail: Reviving Ancient Paths

Documentary, In Progress

Direction : Kostis Georgakopoulos
Direction of Photography /Editing: Olympia Gauguet

The camera follows the journey of Apostolis Tsibanakos, whose vision is to reopen all 600 km of trails in
the Pindus mountain range in Greece. This ambitious project, which he has been working on for the
past 10 years, is nearly complete with the help of volunteers. By founding the Pindus Trail organization,
Apostolis and his team have been restoring and fully opening the ancient paths, preserving their
original structure. The goal is not only to revive these trails but also to pass them on to future

generations, highlighting their cultural and historical significance. Along the way, they aim to preserve

and showcase the local heritage, including ancient bridges, chapels, and monuments.
